Do you know the most common injuries in tennis?
Tennis is a sport with rallies across the court, quick starts and stops, which can lead to ankle sprains and rarely knee sprains.
Pulles muscles are also common in calf, thigh, groin and core. These typically happen because of quick changes in direction, when reaching out for balls, and when using the popular open stance techniques.
There is also a risk of overuse injury because of the high number of repetitive movements. During an average match, a player serves and smashes over 100 times. The shoulders, groin, knees, Achilles tendon and lower back are particularly vulnerable to overuse injury. This type of injury can develop so slowly that it goes unnoticed until it becomes very problematic, meaning painful and restricting play and performance.
